The intention behind this web site is to give informed insight to the world's new war. Because of America's prominent position in this world, and because of America's representative form of government, it is important for the American public to understand what is going on in the world. It is tragic that many Americans take the if it doesn't affect me, why should I care attitude? Perhaps, the tragic events of September 11th, could have been avoided if the American public acted as the social conscience behind the American Government, as it should. We the people, have a duty to understand and approve or disapprove of our government's actions. We are the morality behind the American government.
Not only are we the guardians of amoral activity of Washington against the world, but of Washington against the people of America. It is frightening that so many Americans are so willing to give up essential civil liberties for the perception of safety. The terrorist threat to America has existed for many years, and many have warned of these threats. Now, it is all too real to those of us who were ignorant of this threat. However, the knee jerk reaction to look to the government to make it all better is not healthy for our society. Nor is the reaction to lash out with the American military on innocent civilians of the world.
It is for the American citizens to take their duty seriously and educate themselves on the policies and actions of our nation and to approve or disapprove of them accordingly. For democracy to function and flourish, open public debate is necessary. The talking heads on television and most of mainstream media do not count as open public debate. The people through the Internet, now possess the ability for true open public debate. Explore the links on this page, inform yourself, and take part in the public debate.
Sincerely,
